Railings and stairs are made from special glass with increased strength and reliability. In addition, the material complies with current requirements and standards. Its fragile appearance is often misleading.
For the production of glass stairs, triplex, bent or tempered glass is used. Each material has its own distinctive features:
• Bent or curved glass. Depending on the designer’s concept, the material can take almost any shape. The glass first undergoes heat treatment at high temperatures, making it stronger;
• Products made of tempered glass. It is also exposed to high temperatures to increase durability;
• Triplex. This glass consists of several layers, which makes it the strongest among the options listed above.
It withstands temperature changes and mechanical impact. A specialized film or polymer material is used as the bonding element. Most often used for manufacturing steps.
The edges are specially polished, so there are no gaps in the structures. To make steps, 2 or 3 layers of material are enough. Upon request, different numbers of layers can be ordered.
When creating glass sheets, the manufacturer also considers that the top layer will bear the maximum load. Therefore, an additional layer is applied to ensure maximum structural safety.
